The new season kicked off on Saturday, 5th October for all leagues. Botanic decided to mark the commencement of the new season with a breakfast feast before and after the home games. Breakfast rolls, buns, jam and tea were available to all who needed a feed.
The 1st’s in division 5 kicked off their league campaign with a 2-1 victory over Our Lady’s at home. The 3rd’s followed this victory with their own win. Their match in division 9 with Corinthians finished 2-0. The 2nds and 4ths travelled to Bray for their first matches of the season. The 4ths were up first in Bray and their match ended 2-2 in division 11. The 2nds followed with another exciting game and came away with a point after a 0-0 draw in division 8.
It was a good start to the season for the club. 2 wins and 2 draws means all 4 teams have points on the board. The 5ths unfortunately didn’t have a match this weekend because Old Alex have pulled out of division 12 but they are raring to go for their first league match.
