Botanic Hockey Club extends our love and sympathy to the Nolan family, Paul, Aoife, Eimear and Mark, on the death of their beloved wife and mother, Kathryn (Digger). Digger played hockey with the Club from the time she left school until her enforced retirement. Her play on the pitch mirrored her life, so talented and completely selfless. Many of us, young and old, remember Digger flying up the right wing, collecting the ball and passing to some lucky forward to score. She made others look good!
In addition to the clear enjoyment she got from playing, she could not conceal her pride when watching Aoife and Eimear on the pitch. A Life Member, she gave many hours to the role of Treasurer and subsequently to the Steering Group which spearheaded the acquisition of the Astro. Up until her untimely death on May 6th, she managed the Steering Group accounts, overseeing the early clearance of the pitch debt and the ongoing maintenance costs.
In everything, her commitment and integrity shone through but the encompassing memory held by those who knew her will be that of a kind and steadfast friend with
an endless sense of fun.
We miss you, Digger; your star will live on in our memories.
